Bowls, mouthpieces, and trays are highest-margin items unique to the market. In our three custom hookah bowl products, lead time, mouthpieces, and custom trays, we review design decoy methods, imaging products, and pricing. Each of these methods target different market segments.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"handmade-bowls-turkish-and-hungarian-pottery\"><strong><b>Handmade Bowls (Turkish and Hungarian Pottery)<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>These bowls are produced through a potter\u2019s skilled use of the wheel or by their hand. This means every single bowl ends up looking just a little different.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey and Hungary are the two main sources of handmade bowls. Turkish potters of regions such as Kutahya, for example, have made authentic clay bowls for centuries. Hungarian workshops, on the other hand, produce bowls of a style that is minimal and simple.<\/p>\n<p>MOQ: 50 to 100 units per design. While low, these minimums require the buyer to invest in both time and money for a small amount of bowls.<\/p>\n<p>Price: $15 to $40 per unit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkuphookah.com\/ja\/product-category\/base\/\">\u6c34\u30ae\u30bb\u30eb\u306e\u53f0\u5ea7<\/a>d on complexity, glaze, and surface treatment. You may want wider bowls for longer sessions and narrower ones for denser smoke. You may also want ones with internal spire designs or phunnels which will allow the juice to collect instead of dripping down the stem.<\/p>\n<p>Glaze. Custom glazes are made of raw mineral powders which potters mix themselves. Experienced workshops usually provide color matching to Pantone references. However, customization has limitations, and the glaze will shift in the kiln. The final color will be different depending on the firing temperature, the kiln atmosphere, the position the bowl is placed in the kiln, and the color of the liquid glaze in the bucket. Expect a shift in the color by about 10 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Relief and raised patterns. If a potter has the ability to carve or stamp unfired clay designs on the bowl, they may be able to help you with some texture designs that will aid your glaze shooting to the surface. This can go up to the thousands with larger orders.<\/p>\n<p>Price: $5 to $15 per unit. Higher quantities result in lower total cost.<\/p>\n<p>Lead time: 6 to 12 weeks. Prep and create molds results in a 2 to 3 week lead time.<\/p>\n<p>Uniformity of design in slipcast bowls:<\/p>\n<p>Shape. Bowls made from the same mold will be the same size. This can be relevant to B2B sales to retailers, as the bows will fit in the same packaging every time.<\/p>\n<p>Glaze. With a more automated approach to glazing and firing bowls, there will be more uniform design to the product. This allows for more ease in the production of product photography.<\/p>\n<p>Mold cost. Chemical etching or laser etching creates a permanent logo that will not fade and is resistant to scratches. They look very professional.<\/p>\n<p>Screen-printed logo. Ink is pushed through a stencil and printed. Screen printing is cheaper than etching. Without samples, it is impossible to prove that these are true.<\/p>\n<p>Order samples from 3 to 5 suppliers. Test the samples on your hookahs and other brands of hookah tobacco. Wash the samples frequently. Evaluate how well the logos stand the test of time.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever you order samples, the price per unit will be higher than if you order them in bulk. Expect to pay about $30 to $80 per sample bowl and about $5 to $15 per sample mouthpiece. It is worth the cost to avoid ordering too many of an undesirable product.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"expect-some-breakage\"><strong><b>Expect Some Breakage<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Almost all samples of hookah bowls you receive from suppliers will arrive broken. It is not a question of if this will happen, but to what extent.<\/p>\n<p>Expect 3 to 5 percent of international orders to have standard breakage rates. Expect 10 to 15 percent of international orders to have excessive breakage.<\/p>\n<p>Inquire about your supplier&#8217;s packaging standards. Utilize a standard with a premium supplier and expect every unit to be wrapped in its own individual bubble wrap. Foam and double-walled packaging will also help reduce breakage.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to price your product based on expected breakage. If you plan to sell the bowls for $10 and expect 5 percent breakage, then your expected price after breakage is $10.53.<\/p>\n<p>Use Written Communication<\/p>\n<p>When ordering from a supplier, use a written communication to specify your custom product. Include a photo or draft, Pantone codes, metrics, and specification for the materials. Verbal agreements are not binding.<\/p>\n<p>Always ask to receive a pre-production sample in advance of your full product order.
